About Us
An Advanced Perspective on the Generative AI Integration into Educational Systems (AP-GAIED) (project nr. 2024-2-HU01-KA220-HED-000282245) project was created under Erasmus+ Cooperation partnerships in higher education in response to the ongoing social transformation caused by AI. As AI continues to shake up the landscape of higher education, its integration into the academic process and AI literacy are more important than ever. This innovative project brings together partners from Hungary, Germany, Poland, Greece and Lithuania to explore the issue of AI integration in higher education by exploring its potential, highlighting the ethical and legal aspects of its use, and creating new perspectives and responses to the needs of higher education. The project critically examines and review real-life case studies and the literature on the subject and publish reports for a better and more comprehensive understanding of the subject. The ultimate vision is to create a new, modern, and comprehensive curriculum on the effective use of AI in higher education and to pilot it in selected higher education institutions to ensure its adaptability
Objectives
AP-GAIED is committed to create a new perspective on AI integration in Higher Education by focusing on three key objectives:
Mapping the Landscape: Investigating the Scope of Generative AI in Higher Education
To define the application scope of generative AI in educational contexts. We aim to conduct a thorough investigation of existing generative AI use cases in various educational settings across the participating HEIs and beyond. The goal is to map and specify how AI tools are currently being used, analyze best practices, and identify gaps in their application. This research guides the project in defining the most effective ways to integrate AI into learning and teaching processes, forming the foundation for the broader application of AI technologies within higher education. The outcome of this work directly contributes to defining the scope of AI’s role in education, which is essential for ensuring its effective and responsible deployment
Responsible AI in Education: Legal, Ethical, and Practical Perspectives
To identify legal, ethical, and real-world application issues related to generative AI. This objective involves conducting a systematic literature review focused on the deployment of GenAI in formal educational systems. We critically examine ethical implications, data privacy, cybersecurity risks, and their impact on educational equity.
Mapping the Landscape: Investigating the Scope of Generative AI in Higher Education
To propose a comprehensive curriculum for the deployment of generative AI in education. We aim to design and implement a generative AI-based training curriculum tailored to higher education institutions, providing students and educators with the necessary tools to understand and leverage AI in their academic and professional lives. This curriculum include theoretical foundations, practical applications, ethical considerations, and case studies of GenAI deployment.
